Daily Journal Continued June 19,1998, By-William Thomas Thompson This is the day of the great storm that took down trees,buildings and almost everything in its path with 50,000 homes left without power most overnight. My telephone is out until they say Monday night from 1 pm Friday because a cable was damaged by the storm. My journal was almost complete when I went to lunch with my good friend Jim Craft of North Greenville College Art Director. The weather was hot and clear with almost no hint of a storm but as we ate,we heard thunder and sudden rain with lighting popping close to the ground and all around. We could not leave the rest- aurant as it was very dangerous and with rain flooding down at a maximum rate. Our drains would not carry the volume of water. I remember the church burning down at 4 a.m.when I was a child and how the rare East wind floated burning debris over my bed room in our house and how we fought to save our house and barns that cold Winter night. I remember lighting striking our second barn full of hay and killing a huge animal while it burned so fast and furious,we all carried water not to save the little barn but to pour it on the big barn to save it. There are so many things that frighten little children that care so much and those memories live forever in their minds. There is a day coming when all fear is justified. There is a day coming soon when "the sun will be darkened and the moon will fail to give its light." There is coming a war of destruction on man like only described in the Bible book of Revelation when the 21 judgements are poured out on man and the earth that will be death. Revelation 15-1,"And I saw another sign in heaven,great and marvelous,seven angels having the seven last plagues;for in them is filled up the wrath of God" This is the destruction I see coming as the heathen rage and as the churches deny Jesus Christ. As Florida burns and as Texas is dry. We are killing our future generations living in the wound,we have no future. We seek another way outside of the one and only. Let us turn now from our wicked ways and seek the true and living God of Heaven. He only can deliver us from this heart of sin and this burden of life. He only is divine Lord and God of all this world. He only is God and He only is to be worshipped. We need not to look for another. This is God. Is He dealing with your heart to surrender your will to Him? God loves us all. Isaiah 29-20,"For the terrible one is brought to nought,and the scorner is consumed,and all that watch for iniquity are cut off: 21-That make a man an offender for a word,and lay a snare for him that reproveth in the gate,and turn aside the just a thing of nought.22-Therefore thus saith the Lord,who redeemed Abra-ham,concerning the house of Jacob,Jacob shall not now be ashamed, neither shall his face now wax pale.23-But when he seeth his chi-ldren,and the work of mine hands,in the midst of him,they shall sanctify my name,and sanctify the Holy One of Jacob,and shall fear the God of Israel.24-They also that erred in spirit shall come to understanding,and they that murmured shall learn doct-. rine." Let thy kingdom come Dear Lord God of all the universe.
